Practical Ways to Help Children be Better Writers and Thinkers
Come hear Nathan Levy at next Tuesday’s PTA meeting
OBJECTIVES:
o To provide for growth in children’s imaginative and intuitive functioning
o To encourage divergent thinking
o To give children the experiences of working cooperatively, rather than competitively, on a common problem
o To increase cognitive skills and discrepancy resolution through successful experiences
o To provide enjoyable changes-of-pace for task-oriented learning environments
CONTENT:
Activities and practices used in this presentation offer all participants fun and practical ways to help children read, write and think better. Grade 1-8 educators who work in classrooms or small groups will profit greatly from the hands on, useful activities that are shared.
METHODS:
There will be a structured activity designed to insure involvement on the part of each participant, and to promote feelings of group and individual success. Other activities designed for gifted students will be demonstrated and can easily be adapted to content already covered in the regular classroom.
